In August 2002, the Army selected Actus Lend Lease as its partner to develop new and dynamic homes and communities for the families at the historic base of Fort Campbell, home of the 101st Airborne Division. Almost immediately, Actus Lend Lease engaged in a comprehensive program to better understand and ultimately translate into reality the needs and desires of both the residents and leadership of Fort Campbell. Intensive focus groups of residents communicated these project parameters to development experts with Actus Lend Lease. As a result, the company worked diligently to incorporate amenities such as "skate parks" and "community centers with activities for kids" into the community. Likewise, home designs with "bigger garages" and "bigger houses with more bathrooms" were included to respond to resident requests.

Consequently, the new homes of Fort Campbell will be built to be spacious, durable, beautiful and modern with some of the latest in-home technology. In addition to the new construction planned for Fort Campbell, there will also be extensive renovation of some existing homes, which will feature modernized kitchen face-lifts, updated bathrooms, convenient utility room additions and new interior finishes that all enhance the functionality and livability of these homes.

Moreover, to make these homes part of an exceptional community, they will be part of an integrated plan that includes new community centers and neighborhood trail systems. The community centers will act as the heart of the neighborhoods and will serve as gathering places for many residents. These "town centers" will offer social activities, facilities and management services. Each village is easily accessible by an integrated 20-mile trail system, which promotes pedestrian traffic and emphasizes the human scale of the project.

This community development approach, which unites high levels of home comfort and quality, leisure activities, community planning, sustainability and responsive management, offers a new standard in the quality of life for Fort Campbell families.
